In 2014, I graduated from Sonoma State University with my Bachelors Degree in Sociology. During my undergraduate career, I was an activist in the labor movement and worked as a community organizer to support better working conditions and unionization efforts among service workers. Advocating for social justice and job equality among marginalized communities ignited a passion for serving those around me. I wanted to expand my expertise in social issues and in 2019, I completed my Masters Degree in Social Work.
As a social worker, I became interested in concepts related to grief as a result of witnessing frequent loss as a Medical Social Worker intern at Stanford Hospital. I worked on developing a speciality in grief counseling and wanted to further explore this interest of mine. I pursued my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University, and graduated in 2023.
I acquired my training at Cancer Support Community - Los Angeles (CSCLA) where I facilitated support groups and provided individual counseling to those afflicted by cancer. I continued my work at CSCLA in an advanced role as a Clinical Coordinator, where I assisted in clinical operations, program development, counseling, and community outreach. CSCLA was an incredible blend of all the parts that have made me the therapist I am today. I am warm, collaborative, and intentional in my work, and as a human.
